UPDATE - Due to an unexpected trip out of town, I've moved this event from its original date of November 18th to the following Sunday, November 25th. I've heard some good things about brunch at Zax. Never been there, but this may be the perfect time to check it out. They have a full brunch menu, including favorites like Eggs Benedict, Migas, Banana Bread French Toast (?), check out their menu here. Tap into the chatter about Zax on Yelp here. Another review here. Read the Austin 360 Review here. Look for me, John, and my Meetup Sign. All are welcome, from first-timers to old hands. Look forward to seeing you there!

Sunday Brunch Hyde Park Grill Hello Everyone! Hyde Park Grill is a casual, fun, atmosphere with great local fare. If you're not interested in having brunch, there are many other things to choose from. I have a tough time leaving without having the famous "Hyde Park Fries." I know it's hard to get around on Sunday morning sometimes, but the brunch crowd is a really nice group of people. Additionally, since we all live and work in or around Austin we have a lot in common. Join us and share your favorite thing about Austin. I'm looking forward to meeting you! Sincerely.....LaRynd a http://www.hydeparkb arandgrill.com/

Hello Everyone, I have chosen Chez Zee as the next get together for brunch. It is by far one of the best places in Austin for brunch. I believe that the group met at Chez Zee last year and had a great time. Hope you don't mind my scheduling the meetup on a UT football weekend. I can always push the date out if you prefer. Below is the link to the menu. Look forward to seeing everyone! Sincerely.........La Rynda http://www.chez-zee. com/

Austin Java Company is on CitySearch's Top 10 best brunch places in Austin list. We're going to check out their original location at 12th and Lamar. Here's what people are saying about Austin Java Company: Best Pancakes In Town It's tough to review a place like this because everything that they serve is well above average. Some personal favorites include: chocolate-chip pancakes with strawberries, Vietnamese coffee, burgers, and the peanut soup. Ingredients are fresh, the staff members are cool, and the vibe is laid-back. I love this place, cant get enough of the "build your own breakfast tacos". Austin Java is a great place to go for brunch. Their migas were the first place that I ever ate migas, and I have been a big fan of the miga ever since. I particularly like their Vietnamese coffee. It's really quite good. Their crawfish quesadilla is good, and I believe that they have good pasta and sandwiches as well. The dessert is always good too. Organic, decaffeinated, extra strong--you name it and they have the java. MMM MMM GOOD... You can check out the menu here. http://www.austinjav a.com/menus/austinja va_menu.pdf Let's try to arrive at 12:45 for a 1pm seating time. The manager there is going to be kind enough to reserve space for us even though she isn't supposed to :)

Moonshine Patio Bar and Grill was recently voted Austin's Favorite Sunday Brunch by the Austin Chronicle. Their breakfast buffet includes waffles, migas, muffins, jalapeno sausage, buttermilk biscuits, sticky buns, white chocolate bread pudding, fresh fruit, salad, and more. This all-you-care-to-eat buffet goes for $14.95. Bloody Marys and Mimosas are also available for $3.50. http://moonshinegril l.com/menus/moonshin e_brunch.pdf "Behind the main house sits a carriage house-turned-bar that feels like a secret discovery amid the trees. The combination of cozy decor, dim lighting and beautiful grounds creates a homey elegance that distinguishes this restaurant from competitors." - Tara Hall, Citysearch Editorial Review, 2003 If you haven't been, you can view photos of the restaurant here. http://moonshinegril l.com/photos.php?im_ num=2 Like many great Austin restaurants, they are first come, first serve. Please try to be there by 12:45 so we can take our final count for seating by 1pm. Looking forward to seeing you. If you?re new, I?ll be carrying a Meetup sign.

CANCELLLED This time we're renting the theater just for us! We're going to see Ratatouille. This animated feature film is produced by Pixar. It tells the story of Rémy (voiced by Patton Oswalt), a rat living in Paris who wants to be a chef. I've heard this movie is really good and enjoyed by both adults and kids. http://www.imdb.com/ title/tt0382932/#com ment Breakfast buffet will include fluffy scrambled eggs served with crisp bacon and seasoned sausage patties, garden vegetable quiche (no meat), fresh fruit, bagels and cream cheese. Included drinks are freshly brewed regular and decaffeinated coffee served with sweeteners and cream, sodas, and orange juice. Total price which includes the movie ticket, buffet, tax, tip, and drinks is $26.50 for adults and $9.50 for children. (Alcohol, popcorn, or other menu items are available for purchase + tip.) I am paying them out of pocket so please pay using the Paypal link when you RSVP "Yes" so I can get reimbursed. See you there!
